Current issue of ‘Spiritual Living’
February 07′ issue of ‘Spiritual Living’
The Apostle Paul tells us that we can be gifted, talented, kind, generous and a host of other wonderful qualities, but if we aren’t motivated by love, then we might as well “hang it up!” I know that is a loose translation of that passage, but I think you get the point. The bottom line is…it’s not so much what we do, but how we do it…where we’re coming from inside, our attitude and our motivation.
In relationships…if you say you love someone and you don’t speak the truth, it’s hypocrisy, but if you speak the truth but don’t speak it in love, it’s brutality! So if you pride yourself in being one who always speaks the “cold hard fact” but you’re not doing it in love, the Apostle Paul says you’re about as ineffective as a clashing cymbal…you get people’s attention, but sooner or later they write you off as just noise…albeit a loud noise.
In this month’s issue of Spiritual Living, you will see how Spirit or God is the Creator and Source of everything, including love. The Bible tells us that God is Love. So, when you are aware of God, you are aware of love. Since God is constantly expressing Himself AS ALL that is, and God is Love, Love is constantly expressing itself in every face and every form. The questions is…do we recognize Him (Love) in the everyday experiences of our lives. When you feel love, loved, in love or loving, you are experiencing God. You cannot separate God and the feeling or experience of love.
As you train yourself to live in a conscious awareness of the Presence of God…Christ in you, you are simultaneously training yourself to live in a consciousness of love. Hopefully this month’s issue will help us do just that.
God’s peace, joy and love to you always.
